Kirmo Lintinen & friends, who perform in tonight's jazz club have changed their line-up: singer Anna-Mari Kähärä is uinfortunately unable to join the jam because of her other assignments.
Philippe Boesmans has cancelled his arrival to Time of Music
Time of Music regrets to inform that this year's main guest composer, Belgian Philippe Boesmans has cancelled his arrival to time of Music festival because of illness. Therefore Meet the composer -event won't be on Tuesday afternoon's program, but Fanfare for Philippe Boesmans -concert and other concert repertoire will be performed normally.

The festival office is in the youth activity house, the address is Haapaniementie 52 (next to thatre and library). The office is open at 9.30-18.30.

Philippe Boesmans as the main guest composer
Belgian composer Philippe Boesmans (b. 1936) has been invited to Time of Music festival in Viitasaari, Middle Finland, as the main guest composer. His works will be performed widely by e.g. Ensemble Uusinta, and by a French alto violinist Christophe Desjardins. Boesmans is known as a long term composer-in-residence of the Monnaie Opera in Brussels. His operas are being played at many significant European opera houses such as Châtelet in Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Vienna. Boesmans has also composed works for the most important contemporary ensembles, e.g. Ensemble Intercontemporain, and he is well in demand as a master class teacher in Middle and South Europe.
Tapio Tuomela, artistic director of the Time of Music festival, reasons his choice: "Boesmans writes imaginative, challenging, still accessible music." Narrativity in music in one the next festival's themes. It will be handled at lectures and Meet the Composer sessions.
